Fundraising Night in Dublin
A hugely successful fundraising evening was staged in the home of Tom and Liz Barry in Dublin on Saturday night. Carrigtwohill people now living in Dublin, Meath, Louth and Kildare congregated at the home of Tom and Liz to meet members of the Carrig senior hurling team and have their photographs taken with the Sean Og Murphy Cup. Nearly 100 people were in attendance, including a battalion of nearly 20 who travelled from Carrig to be part of what was a truly special evening...................click here for more

Poc Fada
A very successful Poc Fada was held on December 27th along the traditional route from Tattan's Pub to the village. Thirty-six teams took part, which made it the biggest Poc Fada in many years. The weather was kind and the day was rounded off with a presentation of prizes in Guilders Bar at tea time followed by a rousing performance by Hell for Leather................click here for more

Congratulations
Dick Cull won first prize in the Cork Clubs Draw for November, making him Carrig's third winner in the last seven months. It is an extraordinary run of success given that there are 17,000 members of the draw.
Dick and his wife Ann were presented with the keys of a Skoda Fabia by the ticket seller Pat Kelly. The first prize was sponsored by Noel Deasy, who also attended the presentation in the Carrig GAA grounds.
Also included in the photograph are Seamus Coughlan, the draw co-ordinator, Jack Walsh, who co-ordinates the draw for Carrigtwohill and Denis Walsh, chairman of Carrigtwohill GAA.

Special T-Shirts
celebrating Carrig's county final success are available from Guilder's Bar. Profits from the sale of the T-Shirts will go to the Senior Hurlers' Holiday Fund. The T-shirts are available in all adult sizes for €15 each while children's sizes are available by order from Jim Cooney in Guilder's Bar or any Senior Hurling panel member.

Cup on Tour
Seanie O'Farrell recently took the County Cup to his neighbour, Mrs Ansty Kelly. Mrs. Kelly, who is 95 years old, is a sister of one of our greatest hurling stars, the late Mattie Fouhy who won 4 All-Ireland Medals with Cork in the 1940s and 1950s. Her Father Matt Fouhy, and two of her uncles, Jim and Ned Grey, were members of the last county winning team in 1918

Niall McCarthy has won the Boardwalk Bar and Grill Cork Sports Personality of the Month award for October. Presented with his award at a lunch on Monday 14th November, Niall spoke warmly about his teammates and his passion for Carrigtwohill GAA in a terrific acceptance speech.

Hall of Fame
Willie John Daly, one of Carrig’s greatest players, was inducted into the Vintage Gaels Hall of Fame at a lovely ceremony in the Fota Hotel and Resort recently. A crowd of over 200 people came along to celebrate Willie John’s career, including admirers and friends from other clubs around Cork.

Congratulations
to Ann Buckley who won first prize in the Cork GAA Clubs draw last month. Ann was presented with the keys of a new car worth €25,000 at Paric Ui Rinn last Monday in the company of her husband John, her son John Junior and two of her grandchildren Leah and Shane. Ann and her family have been great supporters of the Cork Clubs Draw and the club lotto for many years. As the ticket seller Junior also received a prize.
The presentation was hosted by Seamus Coughlan, the draw co-ordinator, and was also attended by John Coleman, who sponsored the first prize. The club was represented by Jack Walsh, the draw co-ordinator in Carrig and by Denis Walsh, the vice-chairman.

held a very successful
hurling and football
tournament.
In May of that year the
Cork Examiner reported
that the executive of the
Cork Board had given
permission to the “newly
formed hurling club in
Carrigtwohill” to hold a
