James O'Connor, Carrigtwohill senior hurling coach. James began his coaching career with Lismore's juniors, whom he guided to a county title. He then spent three years with the Waterford U-21s, bringing them to a Munster final for the first time since the early 90s. For the last two years he was in charge of Clonea, guiding them to the 2009 intermediate final in Waterford. After a hip operation James recently resumed hurling with Lismore going in search of his second senior county medal. |

Niall McCarthy Cork Senior Hurler After a couple of summers interrupted by injury Niall McCarthy is enjoying one of his best championships with the Cork senior team. Man of the match in the Munster semi final against Limerick Niall has scored eight points in Cork's four games so far and been the most consistently effective member of the attack - both as a ball winner and a distributor. An All Star in 2004 Niall's current form makes him an early front runner for another All Star nomination this year. |

William McCarthy Cork Minor Hurler For the second year in a row Carrig produced the Cork minor goalie with William McCarthy beating off strong opposition for the number one jersey. A star of Midleton CBS teams in the Dr Harty Cup William made his senior championship debut with Carrig in 2009 and played superbly in the relegation matches against Midleton. He played for the Cork U-17s last year and graduated to the minor team for the Munster semi final against Waterford. |

Robert White Cork U21 Hurler Robbie made the Cork U-21 hurling team again this year, capping his third year on the panel with a fine performance against Tipperary. Having spent two years on the Cork minors before that Robbie has been an outstanding under-age player with an extremely bright future in the game. Robbie also made UCC's Fitzgibbon Cup team this year. |
