Junior 7 A Side Tournament
Cahir 31st July 2010
On the 31st July Carrigtwohill travelled to Cahir in high spirits to play in the 1st Munster 7 A-Side tournament.

The 1st match of the tournament was a walk-over as the team did not turn up. It resulted in Carrig playing their next two matches back to back.
First team Carrig played against was Cappawhite (Tipp); they were a strong team with a number of clever forwards. Carrig were losing at half time. What was to be the theme of the day; Carrig staged a successful comeback scoring a number of excellent goals to win. Next Carrig played neighbors’ Glanmire. Again Carrig were losing at half time, however with Glanmire having only 7 players tiredness got the better of them and Carrig controlled the 2nd half & won the game.
In the quarter final Carrig then played Tramore. It was a very close match with Carrig only winning by 2 points to seal the victory. In semi-final Carrig played Moyle Rovers (Tipp), this was a hotly contested match but it was Carrigs sheer determination that won the match in the end with Tracey Horgan receiving the Golden Boot for that match. In the final Carrig were up against it playing Listowel Emmets. Within the first 5 minutes of the game, Listowels corner forward (plays inter county football) buried the ball in the back of the net twice. There was no way back for Carrig after this but we battled hard til the end.
It was a great day out had by players and coaches alike.
Congratulations to all who received the runners-up prize and we can’t wait to enter a team again next year.
